10,000 Families wouldn't be possible without the support of others. We are deeply thankful to those who have committed to help us succeed!

National Cancer Institute

In September of 2021, the 10,000 Families Study was awarded a UG3 grant from the National Cancer Institute (NCI). This award provides funding to investigate environmental exposures to radon, Per-and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS), and glyphosate a widely used herbicide, which are chemicals of concern and are suspected risk factors for hematologic cancers such as Lymphoma and Leukemia.  This UG3 grant totals approximately $2.1 million over 2 years.

Masonic Cancer Center

The Masonic Cancer Center (MCC) enabled the launch of the 10,000 Families Study through a gift from Minnesota Masonic Charities. In 2018, the Masonic Cancer Center awarded a $1 million, two-year grant to fund the 10,000 Families Study.

MCC continues supporting the development of the study. Our researchers (co-investigators) are MCC members, and we also work closely with MCC’s Community Engagement and Education Program on outreach activities.

Medical School

The University of Minnesota Medical School not only provides financial support but its partnership is essential for 10,000 Families. Four of the Study’s investigators have appointments in the Medical School, in the Departments of: Pediatrics, Lab Medicine and Pathology, and Hematology and Oncology.

Biological samples are stored at the Advanced Diagnostic and Research Laboratory (ARDL), with state-of-the-art technology and handling expertise.

School of Public Health

The support from the University of Minnesota School of Public Health (SPH) is also essential for the 10,000 Families Study. Four of the Study’s investigators have appointments in this School. Two full-time staff are housed at the School’s Division of Epidemiology and Community Health (EpiCH).

Our online data collection is managed and stored on protected servers by the Division of Biostatistics’ Coordinating Centers for Biometric Research (CCBR).
